Lexus CT 200h launches quiet revolution

It's not often a car company manages to design a car that is fuel-efficient, environmentally-friendly with power, luxury and good looks.

 

But the new Lexus CT 200h, now on show at Lexus Swindon, does just that.

The CT 200h is a hybrid capable of running on its petrol engine, electric power (at speeds up to 25 mph*), or with both working in combination.

 

A revolutionary design that delivers a smooth and highly responsive performance, and - most crucially - excellent fuel economy. 

 

And, unlike mild hybrids, the car is actually capable of being propelled around via electricity alone.

 

Remote Touch

 

The CT 200h also features an award award-winning Remote Touch system, an innovation, that revolutionises the way you interact with the sound system, electronic climate control and Full Map satellite navigation.  

 

It has a low centre of gravity and features a high-rigidity lightweight bodyshell. Even the height, position and structure of the driver’s seat has been precisely determined to contribute to the vehicles balance and enhance the driving experience, ensuring the driver feels in touch with the road.

 

Fuel Efficiency

 

The Lexus CT 200h has been engineered to perform in two different driving “moods”, relaxing or dynamic, which are supported by four selectable driving modes – NORMAL, EV, ECO and SPORT. The CT 200h uses Lexus Hybrid Drive technology to ensure the car is always running at maximum efficiency.

 

This returns low CO2 emissions of 94g/km CO2 emissions and 68.9mpg combined cycle fuel economy – substantially less than other hatchbacks in the market place, such as the Audi A3 2.0 TDI (115g/km) or BMW 1 Series 118d (119g/km).

 

The class leading CO2 emissions also mean that the CT 200h benefits from a Benefit in Kind tax rate of just 10% (2010/11) and is the only premium automatic vehicle exempt from the new London Congestion Charge.

 

However, despite its elegant design and excellent fuel economy credentials, its quality, refinement and smooth ride sets it apart from the competition.

 

The CT 200h is currently available to order at Lexus Swindon with three major open days planned.
